Wayne and Mary Meyer had spent thirty years in the home medical equipment and respiratory therapy services. First Choice Homecare, Inc. is a full-service durable medical equipment provider. We not only supply our customers with all their medical equipment needs, we also specialize in obstructive sleep apnea therapy and equipment in addition to diabetic equipment and training. We provide twenty-four hour a day service seven days a week. If a patient has a question, we're available to answer their call. If they're having difficulty with a piece of equipment our centralized location enables us to go to their home to provide assistance. At First Choice Homecare, Inc. Those who have difficulty sleeping well at night will often go to a sleep lab for testing. When the sleep lab recommends a CPAP machine, we're the company that takes the machine to the patient's home, shows them how to use it, and follow-up to ensure their therapy is going well. This type of therapy allow patients to have a much freer lifestyle. They rest better overnight, awaken more rested, and they don't get as tired during the day. With our diabetic program we have a nurse that takes the diabetic equipment to the patient's home and teaches them how to use it. We then bill Medicare and/or their private insurance carrier for them. We also carry anything else our patients might require, be it oxygen related equipment, walkers, wheelchairs, or beds.
When your physician recommends a piece of medical equipment, they'll give you a prescription and send you off to the pharmacy to pick it up. This not only entails a special trip to the pharmacy, but often the pharmacy doesn't have the time to educate you in the use of the equipment. Instead, you'll return home, pour over the manual for an hour, and if you get frustrated you may not use the equipment at all.
